ROOSEVELT

POCF Roosevelt started when an ex-prisoner invited Dondie to minister to a small group of people and they met in the homes of some local people.
The group steadily grew and POCF was able to purchase a land on which to build a school room building which is currently being used for the church.

Pastor Jimmy Abarca is overseeing the church. Jimmy is an ex-prisoner from the maximum security prison in Manila. He was found guilty of 10 counts of murder due to retaliating after a brutal attack on his family where he lost his father, a brother and other family members.

While in prison Jimmy gave his life to the Lord, went to bible school in prison and became a pastor in a church founded by Mommie Olga in the prison. He was released from prison before his minimum sentence was served and he continued to work as a pastor there in the maximum and medium security prisons.

After a year of freedom, Jimmy asked if he could join the POC team and be involved in church planting on the "outside".
Pastor Jimmy has been working with POC since 2002 and is doing a tremendous work with his wife and son in the Roosevelt area.
